Project Overview

We are proud to have played a key role in the construction of the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge, delivering the architectural steelwork package for this landmark project. Spanning 460 metres, this bridge will be among the longest-span cable-stay pedestrian bridges in the world, providing a vital link between Kangaroo Point and Brisbane’s CBD for pedestrians and cyclists.

Scope & Solution

Over a two-and-a-half-year period, our team worked closely with project stakeholders to fabricate and install approximately 320 tonnes of structural steel. Our scope included:

– 460 metres of canopy posts and purlins

– A lift structure at the Kangaroo Point end

– An architectural ring and canopy structure welded to the centre mast

– A restaurant structure atop the bridge adjacent to the Botanical Gardens

This intricate steelwork was essential in realising the bridge’s distinctive design while maintaining structural integrity and aesthetic appeal.

How We Delivered

Constructing complex structures on a bridge introduces unique challenges, requiring careful planning and precision engineering. Throughout the project, we engaged in extensive design collaboration to develop solutions that addressed site constraints and installation complexities.

One of the most significant challenges was the restaurant structure. Ensuring a seamless construction process while minimising disruptions to follow-on trades required innovative approaches and meticulous execution.
