Project Fact Sheet

Fabrication of Cantilever Variable Message Signs

Fabrication of six Cantilever Variable Message Signs (VMS)

The Cantilever Variable Message Signs (VMS) are part of the South Road Superway project to upgrade the whole of South Road (from Gawler to Old Noarlunga) to a high standard, high-speed arterial link.

A variable message sign, often abbreviated VMS, is an electronic traffic sign often used on roadways to give travellers information about special events. Such signs warn of traffic congestion, accidents, incidents, roadwork zones, or speed limits on a specific highway segment.  They may also ask vehicles to take alternative routes, limit travel speed, warn of duration and location of the incidents, inform of the traffic conditions, or display general public safety messages.

Our highly experienced team fabricated the Cantilever Variable Message Signs (VMS) as per the ASR Specification with the surface treatment done by our own Industrial Coatings division.

Neumann Fabrication has operated its steel fabrication facility at Currumbin, Gold Coast, for over 40 years and, over that time, has built a quality reputation.

We specialise in high-quality complex steel fabrications and installation.

Our management and technical team have been with the company for many years. This continuity and experience enable us to consistently deliver quality steel fabrication projects on time and on budget. Proven systems and the ability of our business to adapt and innovate are key strengths and points of difference.
